Visual Voice and JAEBC Forge New Path for Japan-Africa Entertainment Collaboration
Visual Voice and JAEBC's Strategic Partnership
Visual Voice Inc., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, and led by CEO Tetsuya Bessho, has officially announced a new partnership with the Japan Africa Entertainment Business Council (JAEBC). This collaboration seeks to fortify the connection between the flourishing African market and Japan's creative industries, particularly through the acclaimed Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA)—an internationally recognized short film festival accredited by the Academy Awards.
Background of the Partnership

Special Focus on Africa at SSFF ASIA 2026
As part of this initiative, the upcoming SSFF ASIA 2026 will feature a unique “Focus on Africa” program, commencing May 25, 2026. This special showcase will present an impressive selection of short films from five African nations, spotlighting works that encapsulate the diversity and creativity of the continent.
Among the principal entries is Salt of Our Sea—a poignant drama directed by Nada Bedair that follows a young girl's journey of self-discovery amid her parents' troubled marriage in Alexandria. Another notable feature is the music video Patience (Sabali) from Algeria, directed by Valentin Guiod, which poignantly narrates the resilience found in migration.
Broader Goals and Future Plans
Beyond the festival, Visual Voice and JAEBC are also contemplating the establishment of an
