A New Chapter in Education: Queen Elizabeth's School in Dubai

In an exciting development for education in the UAE, Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet, has announced the opening of its first international branch in Dubai Sports City, scheduled for August 2026. This initiative, in partnership with GEDU Global Education, marks a significant step in expanding the reach of a school renowned for its academic excellence, steeped in over 450 years of history.

A Legacy of Excellence

Founded in 1573 under a royal charter from Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Elizabeth's School has built a reputation as a leading grammar school in the UK, celebrated for its outstanding academic results and commitment to inclusivity. The school consistently ranks at the top of UK league tables, outperforming many prestigious independent institutions. This expansion to Dubai promises to carry forth the school's legacy of excellence, bringing the esteemed National Curriculum for England to a new generation of students.

Caroline Pendleton-Nash, the CEO of Queen Elizabeth's Global Schools, expressed her enthusiasm about the project. “This landmark approval allows us to accelerate our vision for providing world-leading K-12 education to students from across the UAE,” she commented. The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has given its initial approval, paving the way for this milestone in UK education history.

Innovative Learning Environment

Queen Elizabeth's School, Dubai Sports City, will initially serve students from Nursery to Year 8, with plans for phased growth through to Sixth Form. The school's strategic location provides access to unparalleled sporting facilities, integrating physical education as a core component of the educational experience. The initiative will be enhanced through the school's unique QE Flourish Programme, focusing on character development across themes of Care, Challenge, Create, and Compete.

This approach aims to cultivate not just academically proficient students but well-rounded individuals ready to contribute positively to society. The Headmaster of Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet, Neil Enright, emphasized the importance of this venture, stating that it aims to foster future leaders in an increasingly interconnected world.

Commitment to Values

Despite its new location, the Dubai campus will remain true to the mission and ethos that define Queen Elizabeth's School. The fundamental principles of nurturing confident, capable, and responsible young people will guide the educational philosophy, integrating innovative teaching methods that reflect Dubai's spirit of progress and ambition.
