On April 18, Japan Material Co., led by President Hisao Tanaka, introduced the LiDAR Sensor Kit, developed by the Dutch company Nexmosphere. This innovative product works in conjunction with the BrightSign digital signage player, allowing for the detection of individuals and objects all around it to switch signage content dynamically.

Cutting-edge Detection Capabilities

The LiDAR sensor boasts a 360-degree field of view and can detect objects up to 5 meters away. This enables the establishment of extensive interactive areas, making it possible to send triggers to the BrightSign player based on predefined virtual 2D zones. This technology allows businesses to dynamically alter their displayed content in response to customer interactions, whether it's changing promotions based on items picked up from a shelf or altering displays based on where a person is standing.

The product package includes the LiDAR sensor, controller, and cables, simplifying setup and ensuring user-friendliness. The triggering mechanisms can be managed through the intuitive software BrightAuthor:connected, enabling seamless operations and allowing users to save playback logs for further marketing analysis. Impressively, a single controller can accommodate up to eight sensors, with additional sensors available for purchase as optional accessories.

Launching the XN Controller Kit

In tandem with the LiDAR Sensor Kit, Japan Material Co. has also released the XN Controller Kit, which permits the connection of multiple varied sensors and switch buttons. This kit, combining the controller and cables, empowers users to create unique signages by freely integrating different interactive sensors from Nexmosphere. The straightforward setup process using BrightAuthor:connected further enhances usability.
