Hamlet Homes Reflects on Rock The Block Season Seven and Their Journey in Utah

Hamlet Homes' Journey Through Rock the Block

Hamlet Homes, the acclaimed builder from Utah, recently shared their thoughts on the seventh season of HGTV's fan-favorite show, Rock the Block. The season premiered with much fanfare in Las Vegas, building upon the momentum created by the previous season set in Grantsville, Utah, where Hamlet Homes featured prominently.

A Spectacular Season Six

In the sixth season, filmed in the picturesque Worthington Ranch community in Grantsville, more than 14 million viewers tuned in, making it HGTV's highest-rated season to date. The excitement surrounding the show was palpable, with four unique homes crafted by Hamlet Homes taking center stage. Each home showcased the creativity and skill of the designers who appeared on the show, competing to create stunning spaces that would enchant the audience.

After an entire year of secrecy and construction under a locked gate, Hamlet Homes opened the doors of these spectacular homes to the public in May 2025. The event, nicknamed the 'Rock The Block Party', attracted thousands of visitors who came to tour the homes and participate in charity efforts for HomeAid, generating over $45,000 to benefit local families in need.

Insights from Tami Ostmark

Tami Ostmark, the Vice President of Marketing and Design at Hamlet Homes, was deeply involved in the production. Her insights into the behind-the-scenes dynamics reveal the challenges and triumphs faced by the team.

"The atmosphere was charged with competition, as all four designers brought their A-game to the set. Witnessing the tension and camaraderie was something special,” Tami noted. The nights could be demanding; at times, as many as 30 craftsmen from Hamlet worked overtime to meet production deadlines.

This fast-paced rhythm of work also introduced a unique kind of 'TV magic,' where quick fixes were essential for filming. Ostmark mentions, "Sometimes areas were redone for aesthetics on camera, but once filming wrapped, we could attend to those details with permanent solutions that matched our quality standards."

The Block Party Phenomenon

The excitement surrounding the 'Block Party' was unexpected. Ostmark shared how they were astonished by the turnout. “It was like Field of Dreams,” she said, reminiscing about the hours of planning that led to the event. Thousands traveled over an hour to Grantsville, and many found themselves parking miles away from the homes, creating a community atmosphere as attendees flocked to see the finished products.

Local media coverage was extensive, and the atmosphere was buoyed by live music, food trucks, and numerous giveaways. Ostmark elaborated on how the community spirit during the event reinforced their commitment to social responsibility. "Having the chance to connect with the community and raise funds for HomeAid was rewarding," she asserted.

The items included in the silent auction, such as memorabilia from the show, drew considerable attention and excitement from fans.

Looking Ahead

Currently, all four homes from the season have found new families to call their own. Hamlet Homes, continuously recognized for its commitment to quality, was proud to be the official builder for all homes featured in Season Six. As they reflect on this successful collaboration with HGTV, they are determined to continue their journey of crafting beautiful homes within welcoming communities.

Interestingly, Hamlet Homes received exclusive permission from HGTV to document behind-the-scenes footage of the show. A 15-minute special will share candid moments, celebrations, and drama from the set, showcasing the human side of home-building under competitive pressure.

Fans can look forward to this exclusive content as Hamlet Homes prepares to unveil these moments on their website and YouTube channel.
