Recently, in collaboration with Musashino University’s Entrepreneurship Faculty, they have transformed the student residence "Gakusei Kaikan Latiera Academico Mitaka" into a vibrant space for learning, growth, and community connections. By regularly organizing events for residents and the local community, they are redefining the student living experience.
Engaging Events for All
In November 2025, J.S.B. held an educational event titled "Fun Learning! Mogu Mogu Cafeteria," inviting local elementary school students for an afternoon of activities focusing on food education and food waste. This was the second iteration of the event, with 13 children participating alongside seven students from Musashino University who contributed to the day’s management.
Event Highlights
The event included fun learning activities organized as quizzes about food and the region of Fukushima, utilizing connections made during a previous trip meant to explore local agriculture, the "Nō Work Tour."
Activity Breakdown:
1.
Work Time: Small teams of university students teamed up with 2-3 children each to tackle engaging quizzes on food education and information about Fukushima.
2.
Lunch Time: The participants enjoyed a special lunch prepared with fresh ingredients from Fukushima, courtesy of JA Fukushima Mirai, featuring:

The Life-Saving Training: Inochi no baton Project
In addition to the educational events, J.S.B. hosted a critical session on basic life-saving techniques on October 13, 2025. Led by Mr. Akiyoshi from Nurse-Men, this hands-on training aimed to inform students on how to save lives amidst the growing incidence of sudden cardiac arrests in Japan, which claims about 91,000 lives annually.
During the workshop, students were challenged with engaging questions to reassess their own readiness to help in emergencies. This was particularly impactful when framing the scenarios around their own loved ones, which prompted a shift in their understanding of responsibility in emergencies.
Workshop Details:
- - Date: October 13, 2025
- - Content: The training combined theoretical discussions on sudden cardiac incidents with practical exercises simulating real-life scenarios. Participants practiced chest compressions and role assignments while responding to a sudden collapse.
- - Outcomes: Feedback highlighted the awareness gained about how close emergencies could be and the necessity of acting effectively should such situations arise. Participants expressed their newfound motivation to take life-saving actions seriously while comprehending the deeper emotional aspects involved in such training.
