On May 19, 2026, a vibrant series of tourism activities themed around the "Pure Yellow River" kicked off in the stunning Kanbula UNESCO Global Geopark, located in the Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of northwest China's Qinghai Province. The event, part of the celebrations for China Tourism Day, brought together self-driving fleets from the nine provinces that the Yellow River flows through, alongside inheritors of intangible heritage, cultural representatives, and eager tourists, all drawn to the region's ecological and cultural riches.

Spanning an impressive area of 3,149 square kilometers, Kanbula is renowned for its 176 geological relic sites, which are both scientifically significant and visually striking. The area boasts a surprising 51.36% coverage of the Maixiu virgin forest and is a haven for rare wildlife, including elusive snow leopards and minks. This picturesque setting exemplifies the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, further enriched by its recent designation as a UNESCO Global Geopark in April 2025, recognizing it as the second of its kind in Qinghai, joined by the famed Mount Kunlun.
