Exploring the Future of Construction DX
On July 30, 2025, Sekisui Home Tech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd., is set to host an online webinar titled, "Enhancing Productivity in the Construction Sector through BIM-Linked Electronic Catalogs". This seminar targets anyone interested in digital transformation (DX) in construction, especially those utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
As countries grapple with challenges posed by a declining workforce due to aging populations, adopting advanced technological solutions like BIM is vital for enhancing productivity in the architecture and construction sectors. Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is proactively encouraging the integration of BIM data across all construction phases—planning, review, construction, and maintenance—with the aim of initiating BIM data assessments by Spring 2029.
Sekisui Home Tech has already taken significant steps in this direction by providing BIM data for its large unit bath KGS-F series, designed especially for assisted living and self-help applications, since March of this year. This initiative facilitates designers in accessing vital resources to improve their productivity.
Historically, Sekisui Home Tech has organized 2-3 webinars monthly to share useful insights with professionals within the caregiving industry. Now, a new wave of webinars is being introduced, specifically titled "Enhancing Productivity in the Construction Sector through BIM-Linked Electronic Catalogs", aiming to provide architects and engineers with information on the latest trends and technological advancements.
The webinar features esteemed speakers from Marubeni Arklog Co., Ltd., including Directors Mr. Kazuki and Mr. Hayashida, who will address how BIM integrates with building materials and offer practical insights on managing and sharing data through electronic platforms. It is an ideal session for individuals who have adopted BIM but seek to maximize its utility, or for those eager to gather information in a rapidly evolving DX landscape.
