SPACETIDE 2025 Side Event: Fostering Space Industry Development
On July 10, 2025, a collaborative event themed "Regional Industry x Space" took place, co-hosted by JAXA, 01Booster, and SPACETIDE. This side event served as a platform for discussing the effective use of space data and the establishment of a supply chain for space equipment, highlighting best practices and case studies involving startups and government representatives.
The need for a supportive framework across the industry and regions was a key discussion point. The event aimed to provide participants with insights and networking opportunities to take actionable steps in the growing space industry. The in-person attendance was capped at 100, which filled up quickly, while over 150 participants joined through online streaming, showing the heightened interest in new industrial collaborations among startups, local businesses, and financial institutions.

Session 1: "Space Startups, Satellite Data, and Solving Local Issues"
In the first panel discussion, leaders of startups focused on solving regional challenges shared their insights. They discussed their strengths, lessons learned from previous failures, and the importance of collaboration among diverse players to address pressing local issues.

Many voices of appreciation emerged from participants who expressed the value of connecting with people they wouldn't typically meet, as well as the unique insights shared during the sessions. Participants also expressed interest in further support and collaboration, signaling a desire for more in-depth engagement within the space industry.
In addition, a matching bulletin board was set up to promote external collaboration and fundraising, showcasing the needs and issues of companies and localities that previously expressed interest in networking. Many participants stopped at this bulletin board to explore potential matches.
