Longchamp Introduces New Basic Collection Inspired by Modern Parisiennes' Journeys

Longchamp's New Collection: A Journey Through Time and Place

In a captivating marriage of authenticity and energy, Longchamp has unveiled a new collection inspired by the contemporary Parisienne's adventures from Paris to London. The Maison, founded by Jean Cassegrain in 1948 in Paris, has released fresh colors for the renowned "Le Roseau" collection and new styles for "Le Foulonné," now available globally. In Japan, fashion enthusiasts can explore these pieces through Longchamp's official online store and boutiques located in Omotesando and Ginza.

The inspiration for this collection draws from the picturesque winter coastal walks taken by modern Parisiennes, where they intermingle with nature in the lush landscapes of England. This season, Parisian elegance and the vibrant energy of London blend harmoniously in individual styles. The iconic "Le Roseau", born in 1993, derives its name from the French word for 'reed' and is celebrated for its distinctive toggle mimicking a bamboo stalk. The color palette subtly reflects the mineral richness of the majestic nature surrounding the Channel, featuring four classic hues in the grain leather version—Black, Clay, Walnut, and Paper. The new "Le Roseau Sleek" in smooth leather introduces three elegant colors: Black, Petal Pink, and Olive, providing a gentle touch to its silhouettes.

Moreover, the 1978 introduced "Le Foulonné" has undergone a design evolution. Its name originates from the French term implying a leather finishing technique resembling a tactile experience from a drum. Enhancing the essence of quiet luxury cherished by contemporary Parisiennes, this collection retains the Maison's heritage of craftsmanship while embedding an embossed logo into the bags' body and introducing oval buckles for key accessories. These bags—handbags, hobo bags, and tote bags—are now available in three distinct models.

The creative director, Sophie de La Fontaine, praises the collaboration with photographer and filmmaker Theo Wenner, stating, "Theo possesses the remarkable talent to capture human gestures vividly. He creates connections between people and nature, guiding our gaze beyond the collection itself. I admire his approach that highlights the uniqueness and beauty within each individual."

As the Maison returns to its core principle of a traveling attitude, the Winter 2025 collection, titled "BRITISH GETAWAY", depicts the modern Parisienne navigating the serene Cotswolds and dynamic London. Additionally, the campaign features brand ambassadors such as Kim Se-jeong and Li Yitong in select Asian regions, showcasing prêt-à-porter designs infused with a British twist along with styles like Mary Jane and Derby shoes.
