GVTC Communications Launches First Branded Mobile Service in Texas Hill Country with Reach Platform

In a significant step towards expanding connectivity in the Texas Hill Country, GVTC Communications has announced its partnership with Reach Platform, becoming the inaugural partner in the exciting Main Street Mobile campaign. This initiative allows GVTC to introduce a fully branded mobile service that aligns with its legacy of providing reliable communications to local residents. With roots tracing back to its founding in 1951, GVTC has established itself as a key player in the region, serving as a trusted fiber cooperative for generations.

A Groundbreaking Partnership

The collaboration comes as part of Reach Platform’s mission to facilitate mobile services for independent internet service providers (ISPs), specifically those servicing 50,000 homes or fewer. Importantly, the Main Street Mobile program allows GVTC to operate under its own brand without the need for extensive contracts or upfront costs. This innovative model offers a streamlined solution to enter mobile service without the complexities typically associated with becoming a telecommunications operator.

GVTC’s branded mobile services are set to launch in an impressive 14 days, providing customers with the opportunity to also bundle their mobile services with existing GVTC offerings—such as fiber internet, telephone, and Smart Security products. With transparent pricing and the support of local teams, customers are set to enjoy the same quality and care they have come to expect from GVTC’s other services.

Community-Focused Approach

One of the standout features of the Main Street Mobile campaign is its community involvement. For every 1,000 subscribers activated by December 31, 2026, Reach Platform will donate $5,000 to a local cause chosen by the GVTC community. This could include supporting local schools, food banks, or youth programs—a fitting extension of GVTC's longstanding commitment to community support, which has seen them contribute substantial donations since the establishment of their foundation in 2006.

Efficient Onboarding and Operations

The partnership between GVTC and Reach Platform exemplifies efficiency; onboarding was completed in a matter of days rather than the long quarters typically needed for similar projects. This rapid deployment is essential in today’s fast-paced environment, where customer expectations for connectivity and service are higher than ever.

Harjot Saluja, the Founder and CEO of Reach Platform, expressed confidence in GVTC's capabilities, stating, "GVTC is exactly who we built the Main Street Mobile campaign for. A fiber operator that has been serving its communities for decades, with a foundation that’s been giving back since 2006. When Josh and the GVTC team chose to launch with us, it confirmed what we’d been hearing from independent ISPs across the country; this model fits. We’re proud GVTC is the first partner, and we expect they won’t be the last."

Customer Convenience and Expectations

GVTC customers can look forward to an experience that mirrors the high standards already familiar to them in their fiber services. They will be able to manage their mobile plans through a dedicated GVTC-branded app, offering a convenient and user-friendly interface for managing services. Furthermore, customers will have the flexibility to port existing numbers from other carriers and choose between eSIM and physical SIM cards.

The GVTC Legacy

As GVTC enters this new chapter with mobile services, it remains deeply rooted in its values as a member-owned cooperative. Designed to foster long-term community relationships rather than short transactional interactions, GVTC aims to continue investing in infrastructure and community support. Through its regional carrier transport network, GVTC connects major Texas markets, including San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Lubbock, and Houston, further solidifying its pivotal role in the telecommunications landscape.

GVTC is not just a service provider; it’s a cornerstone of the community it serves. As it celebrates 75 years of operation, the cooperative is poised to enhance local connectivity and community welfare through innovative partnerships like that with Reach Platform.
