JAF Tokyo and Tokyo City Strengthen Disaster Response



On March 30, 2023, the Tokyo branch of the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF), led by Kazuo Kato, signed a crucial cooperation agreement with the Tokyo branch of the Japan Automobile Dealers Association (JADA), also headed by Kato. This agreement aims to bolster disaster resilience in the capital city, particularly in light of anticipated challenges such as an influx of stranded commuters during major disasters.

Kazuo Kato expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to establish this agreement aimed at improving Tokyo's disaster preparedness. JADA’s Tokyo branch boasts a vast network of 762 affiliated dealerships, which are increasingly incorporating electric vehicles into their offerings. Kato expressed hope that this agreement would stimulate disaster support initiatives across these dealerships.

Additionally, JAF Tokyo is committed to enhancing its existing collaboration for road clearance during disasters and utilizing its facilities to support stranded commuters effectively.
