Beko Achieves Top Score in Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment for Seventh Year

Beko's Remarkable Achievement in Sustainability

Beko, a renowned global leader in home appliances, has once again made headlines by securing an impressive score of 86 out of 100 in the 2025 Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) conducted by S&P. This marks the seventh consecutive year that the company has achieved the highest score in the durable goods sector, confirming its steadfast commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.

Commitment to Long-term Sustainability

Beko's recent recognition is rooted in a multitude of initiatives undertaken across its global operations. In 2024, the company launched 332 energy efficiency projects, resulting in approximately 60,000 gigajoules of energy savings. The utilization of renewable electricity reached a remarkable 60% across all manufacturing operations, while the renewable energy capacity increased to 90 MWp. The implementation of circular economy initiatives resulted in the refurbishment of over 114,000 products. Furthermore, water-saving projects led to savings of more than 223,000 cubic meters.

Three of Beko's facilities, including the dishwasher plant in Ankara, were acknowledged as Global Lighthouse Network sites, establishing them as global leaders in manufacturing excellence.

These achievements are all part of Beko's long-term climate action strategy. The company has set an ambitious target to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. In the short term, it aims for a 42% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a similarly sized reduction in Scope 3 emissions resulting from product use by 2030, compared to a 2022 baseline. Looking further ahead, Beko has set a goal to cut its absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90% and its Scope 3 emissions by 90% by 2050.

In response to Beko's sustained performance in global sustainability assessments, CEO Hakan Bulgurlu stated, "We're continuously developing advanced technologies to enhance the energy efficiency of our products while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions. This vision informs how we design our long-term roadmap and strengthens the pillars of our sustainability performance."

Thanks to its robust sustainability strategy and consistent progress, Beko is continuing to set higher standards in the durable consumer goods sector, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
