Huawei's Commitment to Building High-Quality Data Centers in the AI Era

Huawei Connect 2025: Pioneering the Future of AI Data Centers

On September 20, 2025, Shanghai hosted the Huawei Connect 2025 conference, marking an important event in the push for advanced digital infrastructure in the age of artificial intelligence. Alongside this, Huawei Digital Power organized a summit dedicated to data center infrastructure, bringing together over 500 leaders, technical experts, and ecosystem partners from the global data center sector.

Advancing Digital Infrastructure for AI

The Huawei Digital Power Vice President, Bob He, emphasized the need for data centers powered by artificial intelligence to evolve into 'computing factories.' He highlighted the imperative to enhance the transition of energy from grid systems to chips, requiring simplification of conversion connections and fostering innovation in power architecture. The management of temperature will benefit from a hybrid architecture with an adjustable air-liquid ratio, tailored to the dynamic demands of AI services.

To address the challenges of the AI era, the future infrastructure must be built with AI readiness in mind. This shift transforms the unpredictability of traditional data center construction into a more productized and prefabricated solution. Huawei aims to increase its investment in research and development to enhance energy efficiency and thermal management while collaborating with the industry to foster the establishment of high-quality, secure, and reliable data centers adept for the AI age.

Industry Insights and Predictions

At the summit, Steve Kim, President of Huawei's Marketing, Sales, and Services Division for Data Centers and Critical Power, noted that the core models of AI are accelerating intelligent transformations across various industries, contributing to an explosive growth in global clusters rated in gigawatts. Market predictions suggest that the new AI-enabled data centers will reach a capacity of 112 GW within five years. In response to security, supply, IT development, and energy consumption challenges posed by intelligent computing, Huawei has proposed the RAS (Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) guideline for constructing AI data centers.

The company is committed to continuous technological innovation and provides comprehensive AI data center solutions with reference designs adaptable to various scenarios. These solutions comprise highly reliable products and services throughout the product lifecycle, laying the groundwork for a robust and sustainable intelligent computing infrastructure, enabling customers to harness the massive opportunities presented by the AI era.

The Release of the AI DC Design White Paper

During the event, Huawei unveiled the AI DC Facility Reference Design White Paper, delivering systematic guidelines for standardized AI data center designs and constructions. The white paper elaborates on the challenges faced by high-density cabinets in AI data centers regarding cooling, power supply, distribution, floor height, and load capacity. It presents design suggestions across four critical architectural dimensions: structure, power and distribution, cooling, and integrated cabling, providing numerous design templates based on varying power density levels.

Moreover, Huawei showcased its innovative green and low-carbon solutions focusing on energy efficiency and low-carbon energy production. Constant upgrades in computing infrastructure and rapid advancements in deep learning model technologies shift the applications of AI from quantitative growth to qualitative transformation. Through sustained investments in innovation and integration of digital and power electronic technologies, Huawei Digital Power strives to establish a strong foundation for intelligent computing that maximizes computational power from every watt, alongside promoting collaboration across the industry to develop a more sustainable future.
