Bass on Top Ikebukuro's Major Transformation
The popular band studio, Bass on Top, located in Ikebukuro, is thrilled to announce its upcoming relocation and revitalization. Set to open its new doors on December 20, 2025, the studio will move closer to Ikebukuro Station, specifically just a 30-second walk from Exit 3. This move signifies not just a change of address but a comprehensive upgrade to the facilities, aiming to offer an unparalleled experience for musicians.
Since its inception in February 2012, the original Bass on Top Ikebukuro has been a cornerstone for local bands, operating from the 4th floor of the Kishino Building. Now, with around 14 years of experience under its belt, Bass on Top is taking significant steps forward, intending to create an inspiring environment for its users. The new studio will comprise seven rooms spread across two floors: five rooms on the B1 level and two rooms on B2, ensuring that musicians can find the perfect space tailored to their needs.
One of the most exciting aspects of the new design is the interior concept. Each practice room will feature one of three distinct interior styles, providing users with the ability to select a setting that matches their band's aesthetic and mood. The entrance and lobby will exude a clean and comfortable atmosphere, utilizing a predominantly white color palette to promote a sense of cleanliness and creativity.
In this new location, the studio has pivoted solely to focus on band practice spaces, having previously hosted a piano studio as well. The new Ikebukuro Piano Studio will be unveiled on August 12, 2025, thereby allowing the Bass on Top Ikebukuro to concentrate fully on serving bands, enhancing their rehearsal experiences.
The relocation has also transformed the studio's infrastructure. The physical layout has been modernized after renovation, allowing for the installation of the latest sound equipment, including embedded mixer racks and wall wiring for microphone cables. The expansive rooms are designed to maximize efficiency and comfort. For example, the largest room spans 16 tatami mats and includes a mirror wall, ideal for bands looking to refine their live performances.
In terms of equipment, the studios are fully stocked with top-of-the-line instruments and technology. The drum sets have been entirely replaced with Pearl Masters Maple Gum, and the guitar amps consist of JVM-410H and JC-120 across all rooms. Bassists can choose from various amps, such as Ampeg SVT-3 PRO and MarkBass Littlemark4, among others, ensuring that individual preferences are catered to.
Special Campaign for Early Visitors
In celebration of the grand reopening, Bass on Top Ikebukuro invites users to take part in an exclusive campaign from December 20, 2025, to January 31, 2026. Patrons who share their experiences on social media platforms, such as X, Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook, using the hashtag
