D-Robotics Secures Major Funding to Advance Robotics
In a significant development for the robotics sector, D-Robotics has announced the successful closure of a Series C funding round, generating an impressive $400 million. This financing marks a crucial step in establishing a robust infrastructure for robotics development, further fueled by strategic investments from major global firms and leading investment institutions. The retention of existing shareholders underlines the confidence in the company's growth trajectory and vision.
D-Robotics plans to utilize this newfound capital to enhance its range of Sunrise™ chips, optimizing performance across various computational levels. One of the key initiatives is the development of a comprehensive software platform that supports the entire robotic development chain. This integrated hardware-software system is designed for AI-enabled robots and caters to a vast array of applications, from mature consumer robots to versatile humanoid models.
The first half of 2026 has seen D-Robotics experiencing substantial year-on-year revenue growth. Cumulative shipments of its Sunrise™ chips have exceeded 8 million units, paving the way for the mass production of embodied AI. The validation of its integrated AI infrastructure marks a pivotal point in its operational capabilities, confirming widespread acceptance and application.
Notably, the Sunrise™ S600 chip, dedicated to embodied AI and launched in November 2025, has garnered rapid adoption. Within just six months, over 20 prominent clients, including companies like TARS, Spirit AI, and UBTECH, began integrating the chip into their systems. This collaboration spans various fields such as humanoid robots, wheeled industrial robots, flexible consumer electronics manufacturing, and comprehensive perception technologies, many of which are already in mass production.
D-Robotics has also introduced an upgraded program, Gravity, aimed at supporting innovators in the robotics sector with end-to-end assistance. This includes product development, supply chain selection, market strategy, and fundraising presentations. Already, more than 500 innovators across ten advanced fields, including open-source humanoid robotics and AI-driven sports training, have benefited from this program, leading to many products achieving significant market success.
Across the globe, more than 500 educational institutions and over 100,000 developers from 20 countries have utilized D-Robotics' platform to create hundreds of types of intelligent robots, impacting millions of users worldwide. From humanoid companions to home assistance robots, the influence of D-Robotics extends far and wide as they continue to pioneer advancements in technology.
