Unlocking Potential through Esports: The Rise of ONEGAME
In a groundbreaking initiative, ONEGAME is redefining disability support services through the lens of esports. Launched by One Life Corporation under the leadership of Chairman Hajime Ichimura, this new model combines esports with employment support to create inclusive environments where individuals with disabilities can thrive. With three new facilities set to open in Saga, Mie, and Tokyo in September 2025, ONEGAME is scaling up its operations nationwide, aiming to promote social participation for individuals with disabilities in Japan and beyond.
What is ONEGAME?
ONEGAME serves as an innovative B-type employment support facility that leverages esports to equip individuals with the skills necessary for careers in gaming and esports-related fields. Unlike conventional disability support services, ONEGAME offers a curriculum akin to esports training academies, complete with state-of-the-art equipment and highly engaging learning environments that meet the demands of today's rapidly evolving gaming industry.
Specialized Courses Tailored for Individual Aspirations
ONEGAME features three specialized tracks:
Player,
Event Management, and
Commentary & Analysis. Participants can choose their path based on their interests in the gaming world. Throughout these courses, professional tutors provide hands-on coaching, helping individuals develop the technical skills and creativity essential for transforming their passions into viable careers. Additionally, ONEGAME employs e-learning options to ensure that learning accommodates varying personal circumstances, allowing for an enjoyable and flexible educational pace.
Player Course
In the Player track, participants engage in a unique ranking system that promotes clear goal-setting by visualizing their progress. By completing individual challenges, users enhance their skills in a structured yet stimulating atmosphere. This course prepares participants for potential careers as professional players, streamers, coaches, managers, and analysts.
Commentary & Analysis Course
In the Commentary track, students cultivate their vocal skills to effectively express the excitement of games, learning to analyze gameplay live. This course allows them to take part in hosting events like the ONEGAME tournaments, offering a platform to practice their newfound skills in real-time settings.
Event Management Course
The Event Management course delves into the intricacies of what makes events successful, fostering creativity and planning skills. Participants gain hands-on experience in setting up and managing various gaming events, offering a comprehensive skill set in production roles such as lighting, sound, and streaming.
