After three successful sold-out events, "The Niigata" has planned its fourth tour, offering an immersive journey into the world of Niigata's exquisite cuisine and sake. Scheduled to run from June 20 to 21, 2026, this two-day tour marks a significant first by incorporating Japan's famous Shinkansen.

This unique tour has piqued the interest of urban residents in the Tokyo metropolitan area, having previously attracted over 109 participants in its earlier installments, all filled to capacity. The upcoming series promises to be even more captivating, including visits to various sake breweries. Accompanying participants will be Nihonshu, a comedian and certified sake sommelier, who will share not only the joy of savoring sake but also valuable insights into sake knowledge and appreciation.

Organized in collaboration with the Niigata Tourism Convention Association, Humming Tour (KOKK Co., Ltd.), and Nihonshu, this initiative aims to present the allure of Niigata's sake in a multidimensional manner. Participants will engage in brewery tours, tastings, and comedy, making it a rare opportunity to experience sake culture often inaccessible through typical tourist pathways.

The comedic duo Nihonshu, consisting of Asayan from Higashi-Osaka and Kazuaki Kitai from Himeji, has been delighting audiences since their formation in October 2007. They are notable for being the world's only comedy duo certified as sake sommeliers, having trained intensively at a sake brewery.

In addition to performing comedy, Nihonshu actively promotes sake culture across Japan, conducting regular sake workshops aimed at beginners. They have certified over 1,100 individuals as sake navigators and received special commendations for their contributions to the field.

With their engaging online presence, including viral TikTok content, they strive to connect with younger generations, encouraging a deeper interest in sake drinking.
