Get ready for an extraordinary cultural experience as Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi hosts the
'JAPAN SENSES' event from
October 22 to November 4, 2025. This unique showcase celebrates the richness of Japan's traditional craftsmanship, cultural heritage, and artistic beauty, echoing through time and reaching into the future.
The event aims to revisit the profound values of Japan's culture and aesthetics while harmonizing them with contemporary sensibilities. Various programs will be offered, including traditional arts performances, discussions featuring notable personalities, and many activities designed to engage all your senses.
Opening Events
The launch of
'JAPAN SENSES' coincides with two major celebrations. The opening ceremony will be part of the
73rd Chuo City Tourism and Commercial Festival and the
15th Chuo City Exhibition of Taste and Craft, kicking off on the first day of the event, October 22. The ceremonies will take place in the
Central Hall on the first floor of the main building, featuring a captivating performance by the female unit
Byakuten-ning. With a fusion of traditional Japanese instruments and piano, they will create a beautiful sound that blends tradition with innovation.

Following this, from
October 24 to 26, the

Hierarchical layers of performances will unfold, bringing together a range of traditional artworks that evoke the spirit of Edo. This festival will launch into full swing in 2026, but attendees will get a sneak peek of its offerings during
