Yutong Bus Opens Its First Comprehensive Service Center in Europe
On September 8, 2026, Yutong Bus inaugurated its first European service center in Stokke, Norway. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide extensive support for electric buses throughout their lifecycle, encompassing vehicle maintenance, inspections, and spare parts supply.
The center is strategically positioned to enhance maintenance capabilities and ensure quick responses to local service requirements as Norway transitions towards electric public transport. It aims to offer a streamlined service experience for its clients while systematically supporting the bus fleet throughout their operational lifespan.
Spanning approximately 38,941 square meters, with a building area of 6,074 square meters that includes a 2,300-square-meter spare parts warehouse, the service center integrates several key functions. These include brand showroom areas, vehicle delivery, after-sales service, spare parts supply, and training facilities, providing a comprehensive package of client support all under one roof. Built upon Yutong's global standards, the center combines various service functions while complementing existing local partnerships and service channels, thereby offering clients more straightforward problem-solving and service options.
Jack Li, CEO of Yutong Central and Northern Europe, stated, "This service center is designed to be a comprehensive, centralized hub with ample spare parts, inspection facilities, professional repair areas, and specialized training equipment. Our goal is to help reduce the total cost of ownership for our clients while maximizing bus uptime. By strengthening partnerships and expanding our service portfolio, we strive to deliver cost-effective solutions and create overall value, ultimately contributing to a greener, smarter, and more inclusive public transport system."
A Comprehensive Ecosystem for Client Support
Yutong's new service center is equipped with an integrated system that combines spare parts supply, diagnostics, maintenance, and professional training into a cohesive service setup. This enhances efficiency and provides continuous support for Norwegian passenger transport operators and bus fleets. The center includes a comprehensive reception area, maintenance and repair zones, spare parts storage, hands-on training spaces, vehicle demonstration areas, and brand awareness zones, offering local clients an all-encompassing service suite that covers everything from vehicle sales and delivery to post-sale repairs and staff technical training.
With seven standardized maintenance sections, specialized areas for transmission repairs, and equipped with four-post lifts, electronic laser alignment stands, brake testers, and heavy-duty tire balancing stands, the center offers extensive repair capabilities. These range from chassis repairs, electrical systems, powertrains, air conditioning, to dealing with vehicles with minor damage, alcohol interlocks, and tachographs. Complying with EU standards, the center incorporates a dedicated inspection lane specifically for mandatory annual checks in Norway, featuring a 31.5-meter inspection pit, two 16-ton lifting platforms, and testing equipment for brakes, lights, lateral slip, and onboard diagnostics.
Conducting inspections, diagnostics, and safety checks locally helps clients reduce vehicle downtime and lower operational costs. The center's spare parts warehouse covers 2,300 square meters and holds 4,500 types of original Yutong parts for battery systems, engines, electronic control systems, chassis, steering, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, interior and exterior trim, and maintenance parts. By reinvesting in local inventories and regional distribution hubs, the center minimizes waiting times for parts and repairs, improving vehicle uptime and reducing losses from fleet downtime.
Local Expertise and Long-term Support
In addition to service and maintenance functions, the center includes theoretical and practical training facilities led by experienced instructors. Equipped with a comprehensive training platform for fully electric buses and specialized training modules for air conditioning systems, electronic brake systems, heaters, battery systems, engines, and electronic controls, the center supports training in component identification, operational principles, troubleshooting, and diagnostics. The training equipment uses real vehicle components, allowing client service professionals to apply their newfound knowledge directly to real-world repairs.
Through its local team, standardized maintenance procedures, spare parts depot, and educational initiatives, Yutong continues its global commitment to service quality under the "EnRoute+" initiative. As the first comprehensive service center in Europe, this establishment reinforces the company's long-term dedication to serving European clients. Building on this service center in Norway, Yutong plans to promote its localized service approach across markets including the Netherlands, Chile, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia, strengthening local repair and maintenance capabilities for electric buses, enhancing service efficiency, generating quality local employment opportunities, and supporting the shift towards low-carbon public transportation.
