Aily Labs and Mila Collaborate to Boost AI Agents and Decision Intelligence Technologies

A Partnership to Revolutionize AI Decision Making

Aily Labs GmbH, a leader in AI-powered decision intelligence applications for enterprises, has teamed up with Mila, a renowned institute specializing in artificial intelligence research. This collaboration aims to drive forward two pioneering research initiatives that focus on enhancing decision intelligence and the reliability of AI recommendations in critical business scenarios.

The first initiative will lay the groundwork for reasoning augmented generation systems that utilize knowledge graphs to boost the reasoning capabilities of large language models (LLMs). These systems are designed to facilitate intricate business applications, including competitive analysis, merger and acquisition opportunities, business development, and licensing strategy formulation.

The second project aims to improve the reliability of LLMs in decision-making processes. By implementing algorithms that allow LLMs to self-assess the certainty of their responses, this initiative will enable AI systems to autonomously seek additional information when facing uncertainty.

Knowledge graphs play a pivotal role in this context, aiding computers in comprehending and organizing complex data structures. By mapping information through interconnected points, these graphs enhance AI systems' ability to identify and analyze relationships across various datasets. This capability is crucial for understanding complex business environments involving company products, employee data, and competitive analysis.

Adam Elwood, Head of Research and Development at Aily Labs, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, pointing out its significance in responding to real-world demands from global businesses. “Aily's AI agents already help companies navigate high-stakes trade-offs and make complex, multidimensional decisions through proactive recommendations,” he noted. “By combining Aily's AI expertise with Mila's advanced research on knowledge graphs and agent self-assessment, we unlock unprecedented levels of precision and adaptability in our agents.”

Additionally, Dr. Bang Liu, an Associate Academic Member at Mila, emphasized the importance of providing open access to the results and code generated from this partnership. This aligns with the core values of open science, allowing researchers worldwide to benefit from their findings.

Continuous evaluation and enhancement of these AI systems are critical to ensuring they provide valuable insights and adapt to evolving business needs. Dr. Sarath Chandar, a Senior Academic Member at Mila, remarked that as LLMs become integral to businesses, improving their accuracy and reliability is essential for fostering trust in AI systems. “Our collaboration with Aily Labs allows us to explore innovative frontiers in AI reliability, ultimately benefiting a vast array of applications,” he stated.

Both research initiatives are committed to promoting open science, with plans to share results and development code through public repositories and open-source licenses.
