Books-A-Million Achieves Unprecedented $980,000 in Donations for Troops This Spring

Record-Breaking Support for Troops: Books-A-Million's Spring Campaign

In a remarkable display of community spirit, Books-A-Million™, the second-largest bookstore chain in the U.S., has concluded its Spring 2026 Coffee for the Troops campaign, bringing in an impressive $980,000 for military personnel and veterans. The initiative, which ran from April 24 to May 25, engaged customers nationwide and demonstrated a continued commitment to the U.S. military community.

During this year's campaign, customers at Books-A-Million and 2nd & Charles stores opened their hearts by donating bags of Joe Muggs Coffee, which led to the collection of 78,159 bags of coffee. With a generous contribution of 10% from Royal Cup, a total of 85,975 bags were made available to those in service.

The donated coffee is distributed through Soldiers' Angels, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting troops, veterans, and their families. This initiative not only provides coffee to deployed military members but also extends warmth and comfort to veterans and patients in VA hospitals. Customers added a personal touch by including handwritten notes of gratitude, allowing them to express their appreciation directly to the troops they support, creating a powerful connection.

Olivia Anderson McDaniel, the Vice President of Marketing at Books-A-Million, expressed her joy about the campaign's success: "It is such a joy for us to celebrate the continued growth of Coffee for the Troops. This program is a true testament to the incredible generosity of our booksellers and customers. We're so grateful to partner with Soldiers' Angels to give back to the men and women who give so much to us."

Thousands of customers have joined in this biannual campaign, which has been uplifting military spirits for over 14 years. Each campaign since Spring 2024 has set a new donation record, highlighting the growing compassion and willingness to give among Books-A-Million's customer base.

Amy Palmer, President and CEO of Soldiers' Angels, remarked on the campaign's ongoing impact: "Year after year, the Coffee for the Troops campaign reminds us of the incredible generosity of the American people. What began as a simple way to send comfort to deployed Service Members has grown into a nationwide movement of support for our military and veteran community. We are deeply grateful to Books-A-Million, Royal Cup, and every customer who contributed to this record-breaking campaign. Together, they are sending more than coffee—they are sending encouragement, appreciation, and a reminder that our Service Members and Veterans are never forgotten."

The Coffee for the Troops initiative provides customers with a straightforward yet profound way to show gratitude towards those serving in the military, both domestically and overseas. This year's triumph not only underscores the successful partnership between a commercial entity and a nonprofit but also encourages collective community engagement to honor those who protect our freedoms.
