EVB's Ultra-Slim EV Charger Secures Dual Prestigious Design Awards in 2026
EVB's Award-Winning BUDC Ultra-Slim EV Charger
EVB, a leader in electric vehicle charging solutions, recently achieved significant recognition in the design community by winning both the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 and the Red Dot Award Product Design 2026 for its BUDC ultra-slim dual-connector DC EV charger. These accolades underscore the product's excellence in industrial design, engineering performance, and operational value.
The BUDC charger sets itself apart with a total output capacity of 150 kW and a remarkably slim profile of just 100 mm in thickness. This design becomes particularly beneficial in urban environments, where space constraints often pose challenges for the installation of high-powered charging equipment. The flat architecture of the charger enables wall-mounted or embedded setups in various locations, including busy streets, parking lots, bus depots, truck facilities, and fleet management areas.
Equipped with dual CCS2 connectors, the BUDC can deliver power effectively even in scenarios where two vehicles are being charged at the same time. Its advanced power allocation system ensures efficient use of the available output, offering up to 150 kW to a single vehicle while managing the output intelligently across both connectors. The charger further boasts an IP65-rated enclosure, making it suitable for outdoor installations under various weather conditions.
The integrated liquid-cooling system and the design of independently replaceable AC, DC, and control modules significantly simplify maintenance, ensuring a reliable operation throughout the year. In the words of Jundan Wang, CEO of EVB, winning these two prestigious awards highlights that "charging infrastructure can deliver strong performance without compromising the spaces in which it is installed." He emphasized that the BUDC was specifically engineered to aid charge point operators and fleet management teams in optimizing limited space while ensuring a high-quality charging experience.
EVB's impressive range of DC EV charging solutions includes everything from 3.7 kW AC chargers to 2,000 kW megawatt charging systems. The company's European portfolio showcases models that carry both CE marking and TÜV certification, alongside support for pricing and payment solutions including OCPP 1.6J/2.0.1 and ISO 15118 Plug & Charge integration. Depending on the configuration and model chosen, options for MID-compliant metering and various payment methods such as credit/debit cards and contactless transactions can be provided to enhance the user experience for European charge point operators and public charging networks.
