SafeRide Health Achieves 2025 USA TODAY Top Workplaces Honor
In a notable achievement within the healthcare industry, SafeRide Health has been recognized with the prestigious 2025 USA TODAY Top Workplaces Award. This award celebrates organizations that prioritize employee engagement, foster a supportive culture, and create remarkable workplace experiences.
Located in San Antonio, SafeRide Health has positioned itself as one of the leading providers of non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) in the United States. This recognition underscores the company’s dedication to creating a workplace where employees feel valued and appreciated. Hillary Reynolds, the company’s Vice President of People Operations, expressed gratitude towards the team, stating, "We have worked hard to make SafeRide Health a supportive and engaging workplace that encourages community and rewards dedication."
The selection for the USA TODAY Top Workplaces award is based on direct feedback gathered from employees through an anonymous engagement survey, conducted by Energage in partnership with USA TODAY. Over fifty percent of SafeRide Health's employees participated in the survey, providing a strong representation of their experiences and sentiments regarding the workplace environment.
Reynolds noted the significant impact this recognition has on team morale, explaining, "We hear time and again from our employees that they appreciate feeling valued and know they are making a real difference in the lives of the patients we serve."
SafeRide Health not only excels as a workplace but also sets the bar high in the NEMT sector with a commendable average compliance rate of 99%. The organization has maintained an exceptionally low complaint and claim rate, averaging just 0.13% of trips fulfilled in 2024. With expectations to provide over 9 million trips in 2025 across Medicaid, Medicare, and various provider networks, the company is driven by an ambition to enhance patient care accessibility.
Additionally, this accolade builds upon previous recognitions received by SafeRide Health for its collaborative culture and employee empowerment. Last fall, they were awarded as a Top Workplace for Remote Work by Monster, along with Excellence Awards for employee well-being and professional development, based on anonymous surveys conducted in 2024.
The USA TODAY Top Workplaces award focuses on organizations with 150 or more employees that have cultivated an outstanding culture. More than 42,000 organizations participated in the survey, with results calculated using research-based statements, including 15 cultural drivers that have been shown to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.
Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage, emphasized the significance of receiving such an award, stating, "Winning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from the employees. In today’s market, leaders must ensure that employees have a voice and are heard—this is paramount. Top Workplaces does this and pays dividends."
In December, SafeRide Health inaugurated its new headquarters in San Antonio, which serves as a hub for furthering its mission to connect vulnerable patient populations to vital healthcare services. Utilizing patented technology, SafeRide Health optimizes NEMT delivery across the country, significantly bridging the gap between healthcare access and those in need.
