This year, customers can indulge in two delightful beverages, featuring matcha at its finest: the 'Gyokuro Matcha Frappuccino®' and the 'Gyokuro Matcha Latte', along with a new plant-based option, the 'Honey Ginger Koji Milk Latte'. These products are designed to be perfect for treating yourself or sharing with loved ones during the festive season.
New Seasonal Beverages Featuring Gyokuro Matcha
The festive season is a time for gathering with family and friends, and Starbucks wants you to enjoy every sip of comforting warm beverages. The new offerings exude the remarkable flavors of Gyokuro and the refreshing aroma of matcha. This season, the drinks are crafted to help you unwind amid the hustle and bustle of year-end celebrations, bringing a touch of warmth to your heart.
The Gyokuro Matcha used in these drinks is harvested in early summer while shading the tea leaves from sunlight, leading to the distinct flavors of Gyokuro and matcha. Gyokuro is produced by rolling and drying the leaves, while matcha is finely ground into a powder, resulting in its remarkably rich flavor and vibrant green color. By utilizing Gyokuro, which retains its leaf shape during drying, customers can experience a delicate aroma and a savory depth in every sip. With only about 0.7% of Japan’s annual tea production being Gyokuro, this rarity is developed under the guidance of skilled tea masters.

Gyokuro Matcha Frappuccino® features a smooth layer of matcha paste, topped with sweet matcha whipped cream, and crunchy matcha feuillantine, creating a delightful play of textures and flavors. Alternatively, the
Gyokuro Matcha Latte combines Gyokuro-infused matcha with steamed milk and is finished with soft matcha whipped cream and crunchy feuillantine, offering a refined taste of traditional Japanese tea.
