Upcoming Seminar: Lunar Propellant Plant Concepts and Space Infrastructure Development
The Japan Planning Institute (JPI) is set to host a seminal seminar titled
“Exploring Lunar Propellant Plant Concepts and Future Space Infrastructure Development” on June 30, 2025. This event will feature
Toshiichi Miyashita, Director of the Engineering DX Promotion Office at JGC Global Corporation, who will share his insights on the cutting-edge developments in lunar propellant generation and space infrastructure.
This seminar represents a timely response to the globally accelerating trend in lunar exploration, notably highlighted by the U.S. Artemis program. As Japan’s national space agency,
JAXA, lays out its vision in the
Japan’s International Space Exploration Scenario (Draft) 2021, they aim to achieve the utilization of lunar water resources. This plan includes conceptual studies and technological assessments for a lunar propellant generation plant throughout the 2020s, with a targeted operational start by 2040. The seminar will delve into these ambitious goals and JGC’s contributions to lunar exploration.
