Sega has officially embarked on a grand celebration of Puyo Puyo, their beloved action puzzle game series, marking an impressive 35 years since its debut. To honor this milestone, they will release a special commemorative CD album titled Puyo Puyo - 35th Anniversary DAIRENSA! Album, alongside an exciting live event, Puyo Puyo - 35th Anniversary LIVE - DAIRENSA! scheduled for September 2026.

The Commemorative Album

The celebratory album, Puyo Puyo - 35th Anniversary DAIRENSA! Album, is set to hit the shelves on August 24, 2026. This album is a product of the 35th Anniversary DAIRENSA! Project, featuring a carefully curated collection of tracks that have defined the series since Puyo Puyo Fever. The sound direction by Eiki Abe, who has been instrumental in shaping the musical identity of Puyo Puyo, will ensure a vibrant auditory experience.

Fans can look forward to a mix of classic tracks along with character vocal songs, some of which are appearing on CD for the first time. Notably, songs from Puyo Puyo!! Touch and Puyo Puyo!! Quest will be included, alongside a collaborative piece titled “Punitto Puyo Puyo” crafted in conjunction with the music group Punitto Denki. This two-disc album encompasses 86 tracks, providing a comprehensive journey through Puyo Puyo’s musical legacy that fans can relish.

Exclusive Booklet

Additionally, the album will feature an exclusive booklet containing insights and comments from both Mizuki Hosoyamada, the general producer of the series, and Eiki Abe. This enriches the experience, giving fans a deeper connection to the music and its creators.

Following the album release, Sega is also preparing for the Puyo Puyo - 35th Anniversary LIVE - DAIRENSA!, which will take place on September 6, 2026, at Otsuka Hearts Next in Tokyo. The event will feature live performances and discussions with notable personalities connected to the Puyo Puyo universe.

Mie Sonozaki, the voice behind the character Arle, and Kaoru Sakura, who voices Witch, are confirmed to be among the speakers and performers. Additionally, the artists Punitto Denki and PARKGOLF, responsible for the 35th anniversary song, will also be gracing the stage. This event promises to be a festive gathering that fans won’t want to miss.
