Wienerschnitzel's Continued Growth in the U.S.
Wienerschnitzel, the world's largest hot dog franchise, has embarked on an exciting journey to expand its presence across the United States. The brand has recently signed two new multi-unit agreements to open eight additional locations - four in Spokane, Washington and four in Fort Worth, Texas. This strategic move signifies Wienerschnitzel's commitment to reaching new markets and serving even more customers delicious hot dogs, fries, and other popular menu items.
Expanding into Spokane
Leading the expansion efforts in Spokane is franchisee Paul Del Bufalo, who has already made his mark in Boise, Idaho, by establishing a loyal customer base and recently launching a second location in Nampa. Del Bufalo's vision for Spokane involves introducing local residents to the unique flavors and dining experience Wienerschnitzel offers.
Del Bufalo commented on his journey with the franchise, stating, "The Wienerschnitzel brand has been an incredible business to grow with over the past few years. We’ve seen consistent demand and an enthusiastic customer base here in Idaho. Expanding into Spokane is the natural next step, and I'm excited to introduce even more communities to our unique menu and guest experience."
Fort Worth's New Addition
Meanwhile, in Fort Worth, Texas, Evan Carbonell is set to bring his experience as a successful franchisee to the city. Currently owning four locations in El Paso, Carbonell is part of the Met1Franks group and is actively working on securing real estate for the new Fort Worth locations while also developing a store in Phoenix, Arizona.
Carbonell expressed his enthusiasm about this new opportunity, mentioning that "Wienerschnitzel is a cornerstone of the West Coast, and I've been proud to be part of the brand's rapid Texas expansion into key South Central markets. El Paso has long embraced Wienerschnitzel as a household name, and I look forward to bringing that same community-focused approach to Fort Worth."
Accelerating National Expansion
The recent deals follow Wienerschnitzel's significant growth strategy, which aims to expand the brand's reach across the nation. Just prior to these agreements, Wienerschnitzel announced a seven-unit deal targeting the East Coast in Virginia, illustrating the franchise's robust growth plan. In addition to traditional restaurant openings, Wienerschnitzel is also exploring non-traditional locations, with six new units set to open inside Walmart stores.
Ted Milburn, Wienerschnitzel's Director of Franchise Development, praised the leadership qualities of Del Bufalo and Carbonell. He stated, "Paul and Evan are prime examples of the type of franchise partners who excel in our system. They both possess the skills, ambition, and entrepreneurial drive needed to build thriving businesses from the ground up. Their success stories are a key profile we’re looking to replicate in many markets across the U.S."
Commitment to Franchisees
Currently, there are about 340 franchised Wienerschnitzel locations across 13 states, and this number is set to grow as the brand actively looks for experienced multi-unit operators and successful entrepreneurs to join its franchise family. Wienerschnitzel's legacy dates back to 1961, when it first opened a hot dog stand in Wilmington, California, and has since evolved into an iconic brand known for serving over 120 million hot dogs annually. With its motto of "Serving Food to Serve Others," Wienerschnitzel also gives back a percentage of profits to various charitable partners.
