Laox Akihabara's Trading Card Mall, known as "Toreka Mall," is set to undergo expansion starting July 2026, following the overwhelming success and impressive sales figures of the existing trading card sections within the building. The decision was made by Palette Group, based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, which manages this specialized retail space.

Since its opening, the Toreka Mall has garnered immense support from trading card enthusiasts and collectors. The monthly sales have surged past 700 million yen, attracting a diverse range of customers, from local trading card fans to international tourists drawn by Japan's anime and hobby culture. The vibrant atmosphere in the mall is always filled with excitement and smiles, making it a go-to destination for card lovers.

Reasons Behind the Expansion

The expansion aims to address the substantial increase in both foot traffic and sales, capitalizing on the growing trading card market in Akihabara. This decision underscores the need for a venue that can provide a rich variety of customer experiences.

Currently, the Toreka Mall spans two floors (B1F and 5F) and is designed as an "entertainment mall" centered around trading card retail, evaluations, and events. Given the current trends and steady demand, additional spaces within the building have been identified for use in expanding the mall, which will enhance its offerings further.
