XCMG Machinery, a leading player in the global construction equipment sector, has recently inaugurated its overseas training program in Uzbekistan, officially launched in Xuzhou, China. This unique initiative aims to create a new educational model termed the "school-enterprise-school" system. This framework is designed to connect foreign subsidiaries of XCMG with local educational institutions in Uzbekistan to train a workforce capable of supporting Chinese companies abroad.
The program, which encompasses a comprehensive training experience, comprises three stages: 18 months of foundational education, followed by 6 months of specialized training, and finally, a 12-month practical work placement. This structure goes beyond traditional education by fostering a global talent ecosystem within the construction sector. It effectively integrates industry requirements, skills training, hands-on experience, and employment pathways to equip students with both the technical skills and real-world experience necessary for career advancement.
According to Yang Dongsheng, CEO and Chairman of XCMG Machinery, the company has always viewed internationalization as a core strategy. Yang stated, "We are paving a new path for the Chinese construction equipment industry on the global stage. Our global talent pool plays a crucial role in this vision, which relies on skill-based industrial expansion. We are building a comprehensive, globally integrated training service system with a full lifecycle approach to nurture world-class professionals capable of seizing opportunities in the international market."
The program is meticulously aligned with the needs of the industry, thus fostering a cooperative framework which enhances partnerships between educational institutions and businesses. Uzbekistan holds significant strategic importance for China's construction machinery sector within Central Asia. In 2014, XCMG established its first manufacturing base in Uzbekistan, and over the past decade, it has delivered thousands of units serving in the local mining, agriculture, and various other industries.
In addition, the company seeks to tap into broader potential by developing local vocational education, leveraging the platform of Xuzhou Construction Machinery Technical College. This expansion aims to enhance the capabilities of the global workforce and the construction industry as a whole.
In recent years, XCMG has utilized its vocational training bases to upgrade nearly 1000 technical specialists from 25 countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). This effort includes professionals from Gabon, Brazil, and Indonesia, significantly boosting the quality and effectiveness of the BRI by fostering skilled labor.
