Vestis Teamsters in Iowa Ratify New Contracts
In a significant victory for labor rights, Teamsters drivers and plant workers across various Vestis locations in Iowa have decisively ratified new collective bargaining agreements. This development represents a crucial step forward for unionized workers in the laundry industry, enhancing their pay and benefits while demonstrating the strength and solidarity of the Teamsters organization.
A Historic Moment for Union Workers
On February 18, 2026, Teamsters Local 90, 120, 238, and 554, representing 120 drivers and 58 plant workers, celebrated the overwhelming approval of their new contracts. Union representatives, including Rocco Calo, Director of the Teamsters Industrial Trades Division, praised the efforts of the workers, emphasizing their determination and commitment to each other. “Vestis Teamsters in Iowa continue to raise the bar for contracts throughout the laundry industry,” Calo remarked. This victory not only enhances existing labor agreements across the state but also sets a benchmark for other union workers.
The three-year contracts encompass a variety of improvements, including wage increases and enhanced benefits such as employer contributions to 401(k) plans and maintained health care premiums. These provisions ensure that workers receive fair compensation for their hard work, reflecting the essential services they provide to businesses, hospitals, and restaurants throughout Iowa.
