Tackling Carbon Footprint for Innovation: Insights from the Third CFP Nexus WG Meeting
On October 17, 2025, Okayama University held the third meeting of the Carbon Footprint (CFP) Nexus Working Group at the KIBINOVE Co-Creation Innovation Lab. This initiative is organized by the Okayama Digital Innovation Creation Platform (OI-Start), which aims to enhance regional companies' competitiveness and achieve green transformations (GX) by leveraging carbon footprint data. Approximately 40 participants, including business representatives, researchers, students, and finance sector professionals, attended the hybrid event, which included both in-person and online participation.
Kickoff and Introductions
The meeting began with introductions of new members, followed by an overview of the initiative by Takao Funakura, deputy director of the Innovation and Research Promotion Office at Okayama University. He emphasized the importance of generating value through collaboration among academia, industry, government, and financial sectors.

The highlight of the session included a presentation from Shunya Takada of Chuden Environment Technos Co., Ltd., who detailed the company's decarbonization support services. These services include energy efficiency diagnostics, CO₂ emission visualization, Science Based Targets (SBT) certification support, and carbon offset assistance.
