Japan's Premier Robot Sports Festival: Robospo Festa in Adachi
In a groundbreaking initiative, the Japan Robot Sports Association, based in Adachi, Tokyo, is excited to announce the first-ever official robot sports tournament, dubbed the
Robospo Festa in Adachi. Scheduled for
July 26 and 27, 2025, the event will take place at the popular
Galaxy City venue, promising a unique blend of education, competition, and entertainment.
Over
70 students from elementary, middle, and high schools will form teams and participate in a month-long workshop leading up to the event. Here, they will design, build, and program their own robots, showcasing a new realm of
technology sports. This format encourages participants to dive into 3D CAD design, hands-on assembly, and thoughtful programming, ultimately fostering skills in technology, creativity, and teamwork.
A Hands-On Learning Experience
Not only will participants build and compete, but attendees will also have the opportunity to experience robotics firsthand. The event will feature interactive robot operation experiences, 3D CAD demonstrations, and robot exhibitions, ensuring a rich, engaging environment where visitors can not only watch but participate.
The festival is jointly organized by Galaxy City, a key educational hub in Adachi, and
Yaokin Shouji, a locally focused company committed to educational support. Through this collaboration, local businesses and public institutions are coming together to offer children real-world learning experiences, establishing a collaborative model between community, education, and industry that has garnered significant attention.
Exciting Entertainment Awaits
The Robospo Festa promises to be visually and intellectually stimulating. With creative direction from the
Hiraru Society and stage management from the
Iizuka Stage Office, this event will transform robot sports into an entertaining spectacle. Additionally, actress
Fonchi will serve as the MC, adding a splash of glamour to the competition.
Attendees can look forward to hands-on robot operation experiences, a chance to try out the new robot sports game “
ATTRACTS” developed by
Robot Sports Games, and various robot displays, allowing everyone to explore the fascinating world of robot sports.
Sponsored by Leaders in Tech
The seminal event is proudly sponsored by
PTC Japan, a global innovator in 3D CAD and PLM software solutions. PTC is stepping up to support the youth’s manufacturing experiences through the provision of design tools and technical support, thereby enhancing the overall event.
With the pioneering efforts originating in Adachi, the Robot Sports Association is looking to model this initiative nationwide. By collaborating with municipalities, schools, and corporations throughout Japan, they aim to create spaces where everyone can enjoy and grow through engaging interactions regardless of age or background, ultimately nurturing a “new sports culture” that spans across generations and locales.
What is Robot Sports?
Robot sports center around the dual aspects of creation and competition, enabling participants to
design, assemble, and program their robots. This innovative approach cultivates not only a love for technology but also essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork. It offers a unique learning environment where participants can thrive while having fun.
The initiative is designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of all ages. While this first event centers on students, the goal is to establish an engaging competitive culture that transcends age, region, and even national borders.
