VinFast Restructures Automotive Portfolio

VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, recently completed a significant reorganization of its automotive portfolio by launching three strategic brand lines. This strategic move comes alongside the unveiling of two luxurious models, the Lac Hong 800S and the Lac Hong 900S. These flagship vehicles are designed to establish VinFast as a prominent player in the ultra-luxury automotive market, inspired by Vietnamese cultural heritage.

A New Era of Luxury

The introduction of the Lac Hong brand marks VinFast's ambition to elevate electric vehicle standards in the luxury segment. The brand now includes three models: the 900 LX, 900S, and 800S, which are developed to reflect both national pride and global luxury standards. This new line is complemented by the existing VF line, which targets mass-market passenger electric vehicles and includes models ranging from VF 3 to VF 9, in addition to a commercial mobility brand known as Green.

Design That Tells a Story

The Lac Hong models stand out for their exquisite design and craftsmanship, rivaling the world's finest luxury vehicles. The 800S embodies a bold and powerful aesthetic, while the 900S showcases timeless elegance. The vehicles integrate cultural elements into their designs, such as a grille inspired by Vietnamese bamboo and exterior motifs derived from traditional Dong Son bronze drums and rice terrace patterns. This is not merely aesthetic; these design elements celebrate the nation’s cultural and historical legacy, honoring the strength and resilience that the country represents.

Luxurious Interiors

Inside, the Lac Hong 800S and 900S boast high-grade materials, including Nappa leather and unique woods, paired with gold-plated accents that add a touch of sophistication. In keeping with the ultra-luxury promise, both models are equipped with high-tech features aimed at enhancing passenger experience. Notable amenities include zero-gravity executive seating, automatic power-assisted doors, and premium sound systems developed by globally recognized brands.

The 900S takes it a step further with an exclusive privacy partition between the front cockpit and rear cabin, a starlight headliner, and an onboard entertainment system that can project content onto large screens, creating a luxurious mobile sanctuary.

Performance and Technology

Regarding performance, the Lac Hong models are powered by a groundbreaking fully active suspension system that ensures superior ride comfort and stability. They are designed to impress with a tri-motor powertrain capable of producing a combined output of up to 460 kW. This technology aligns perfectly with the ultra-luxury positioning that VinFast aims to achieve, promising a driving experience marked by power and refinement.

According to Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, the Deputy CEO of Global Automotives at VinFast, this strategic restructuring and the introduction of the new models are critical steps in fostering growth following the company’s success as the top automotive brand in Vietnam. With plans to launch the Lac Hong 800S and 900S in 2027, VinFast aims not only to further establish itself in regional markets but also to inspire national pride through its innovative vehicles that showcase Vietnam's craftsmanship and technological capabilities.

Having already introduced more than 15 electric vehicle models and secured a leading market share over the past 16 months, VinFast continues to set sales records, delivering 175,099 vehicles in Vietnam alone in 2025. Through these achievements, VinFast aspires to narrate a powerful story about Vietnamese ingenuity and resilience in the global automotive landscape.
