In a recent online launch event themed "Act Today. Shape Tomorrow," Huawei unveiled its series of reports discussing the future of an intelligent world aimed for 2035. This comprehensive report details two crucial publications: Intelligent World 2035: Turning Vision into Action and Global Digitalization and Intelligence Index 2026.

The Intelligent World 2035 report lays out ten principal directions to construct a smarter world, tackling significant challenges presented by the advent of agent-based AI. As the digital realm increasingly merges with physical environments, AI is transitioning from being a mere tool to a core technology embedded within operational processes and societal frameworks. David Wang, Huawei's Vice Chairman, highlights that agent-based AI stands as a crucial factor in this transformation, necessitating a proactive response to key challenges. The report identifies ten specific strategies necessary for achieving a successful transition:

2. Scaling computing clusters by 100 times and reducing costs for agent tasks by 1,000 times, requiring a shift to SuperPoD systems for improved efficiency.
3. Innovating storage and memory systems that provide causal accuracy and reliable traceability, essential for transforming data into actionable knowledge.
4. Implementing intelligent connectivity infrastructure integrated with AI for enhanced communication.
5. Pioneering novel chip design methodologies that optimize latency and energy efficiency, encouraging semiconductor advancements.
6. Adapting OS environments towards autonomous evolution, leading to a more agent-native technological foundation with capabilities that include coordination, execution, memory, and connectivity.
7. Defining new paradigms for seamlessly adaptable device intelligence that offer continuous intelligent services across varying contexts.
8. Championing self-learning capabilities and heightened security within autonomous driving technologies, evolving vehicles into embodied agents.
9. Overcoming computational and thermal limits in AI data centers to support scalable performance.

Each of these pathways will ultimately facilitate the conversion of token-based systems into perceptible intelligent services, reshaping both individual user experiences and the operational frameworks of businesses.

To successfully implement these strategies, Huawei stresses the necessity of developing SuperPoDs and fostering open ecosystems aimed at enhancing token production efficiency. Furthermore, a structured intelligent connectivity framework is critical to enable seamless token flows and the establishment of agent-native cloud platforms. These actions are envisioned to accelerate the widespread adoption of AI across multiple sectors, fundamentally transforming user interactions and operational methodologies.

Alongside these advancements, the Global Digitalization and Intelligence Index 2026, co-developed with Tsinghua University's Institute of Economics, outlines pathways for nations aiming toward a smart economy. It highlights insights from experts in economics, sociology, and information and communications technology (ICT), projecting that AI will generate over $27 trillion in cumulative economic value worldwide within the next five years. Additionally, it estimates that global investments in digital and intelligent infrastructure will grow at an average annual rate of 19.14%, exceeding $4 trillion by 2030, laying a robust foundation for the expansion of a smart economy.

The report redefines essential production factors in the evolving digital landscape—data, skilled ICT personnel, and intelligent technologies. It emphasizes the importance of integrating networks, computing power, and storage capabilities as the fertile ground necessary for successful industrial modernization.

After evaluating the digital and intelligent development of 90 countries, the report categorizes their progress into three phases: 'Builder,' 'Adopter,' and 'Frontrunner,' helping policymakers identify distinct pathways toward a smart economy. The report underscores that while a universal framework for the intelligent age does not exist, a quantitative assessment allows each nation to pinpoint priorities and customize development trajectories appropriate to their unique circumstances.
