Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery Declared Official Cheese Curd of Wisconsin State Fair

Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery's Cheese Curd Triumph

The renowned Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery has made a significant announcement! Their award-winning cheese curds have been officially recognized as the Official Cheese Curds of the Wisconsin State Fair, taking place from August 6-16 in West Allis, a Milwaukee suburb.

The statement was made by Jocee Weaver, the Director of Sponsorships at the Wisconsin State Fair, who expressed pride in partnering with a brand that embodies the rich farming heritage integral to the fair's history.

A Snack for Everyone

Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery stands out as a leading supplier, particularly famous for their fresh cheese curds that are often battered and deep-fried at the fair. This year, they are also introducing Made Fresh for the Fair Pouches, a new product offering that includes pre-packaged cheese curds in 2oz servings. These pouches will be available only at Brad Harry's concession stand during the fair, showcasing five delightful flavors: Natural Cheddar, Garlic, Pizza, Jalapeno, and Dill Pickle.

These cheese curds make an excellent option for those seeking tasty yet nutritious snacks at the fair. Each pouch provides 12 grams of protein, making it a hearty treat for anyone navigating the fairgrounds.

The Gold Standard in Cheese Curds

According to Kevin Pieh, the CEO of Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery, the brand is recognized as the number one refrigerated retail cheese curd brand in the United States, as per Circana data. Their claim to fame is bolstered by the village of Ellsworth being dubbed the Cheese Curd Capital of the country.

Pieh elaborated on the traditional process used for their cheese curds, noting that they are made during the natural cheese-making process. However, they catch the curds before they are pressed into traditional cheese forms. The facilities in Ellsworth, Wisconsin, are designed specifically to meet consumer demand for these beloved snacks.

“Every summer, our cheese curds become a cherished tradition at the Wisconsin State Fair,” Pieh emphasized, encouraging everyone to savor both their fried cheese curds and the new made-to-order pouches during the fair festivities.
