Discover the NewMaker's Market
Introduction
On May 3rd and 4th, 2025, Harajuku will host the vibrant
NewMaker's Market, a two-day event organized by
STORY&Co. at the
NewMake Labo. This creative community event is dedicated to showcasing unique upcycled and handmade crafts by its member artists, known as
NewMakers. It aims to offer a platform where creators can express their creativity while engaging directly with the audience through their art.
An Invitation to Connect
The
NewMaker's Market is not just a place to shop; it's a celebration of creativity and an invitation to connect with the stories behind each piece. Visitors will encounter a diverse array of handcrafted items that reflect the individualistic styles of each creator, highlighting the importance of craftsmanship and recycled materials.
Event Features and Highlights
The event features creations focusing on unique materials, upcycling, and personal craftsmanship, giving attendees the chance to meet the artists and hear the inspirations behind their works. Each
NewMaker brings a distinct perspective and approach to their creations, showcasing works that cannot be found anywhere else.
On
Day 1 of the event (May 3rd), attendees can enjoy:
- - megu_photographie / CHANGCHANG: Offering a blend of upcycled and original designs from the renowned designer, Megumi Okawa, in collaboration with a jewelry designer friend.
- - gemmy: With vibrant glass accessories crafted using the fusing technique, these pieces uphold durability and playful design.
- - aoba: Showcasing mood-lifting, hand-knitted layered clothing, all one-of-a-kind.
- - SIGH: An upcycling brand recently relocated from San Francisco that highlights the essence of materials in its production.
- - あれさまこれさま: A unique take on fashion accessories created in response to the common complaint that women’s clothing often lacks pockets.
Moving to
Day 2 (May 4th), visitors will find:
- - WAKANO: Vintage and original textile items, each piece tells a story of creativity.
- - MOKUReN: Jewelry designed using flame working techniques, intended to be treasured for years.
- - YURI ASAKA: Knit pieces that embody a touch of happiness and creativity.
- - BE HOME: Unique aprons made from leftover fabric from textile manufacturers, ensuring that no two items are alike.
- - atelier haku: Where photography meets embroidery, creating enchanting illustrations on fabric.

NewMake Labo serves as the hub for community gatherings, providing resources and a space for creators to collaborate and grow. Open from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, the lab presents an exciting opportunity for individuals to engage in upcycling and creative expression.
