Selah Freedom Launches Inspiring YouTube Series on Overcoming Sex Trafficking

From Trauma to Triumph: Selah Freedom's New YouTube Series

In a powerful initiative aimed at tackling the harrowing issue of sex trafficking, Selah Freedom—Florida's largest organization dedicated to anti-sex trafficking—has announced the launch of an impactful YouTube video series. This series is set to kick off on April 10, 2026, coinciding with Child Abuse Prevention Month, and will feature a range of survivors, experts, and advocates dedicated to eradicating sex trafficking and preventing future abuse.

The series will consist of five episodes, each released every Friday until May 8. Featuring candid conversations and impactful testimonies, Selah Freedom aims to shed light on the complex interplay between child abuse and trafficking, while offering hope and resources for recovery.

Episode Highlights

The inaugural episode will center around Angelea, a courageous survivor of sex trafficking, who endured years of abuse starting from the age of three. Her journey took a transformative turn when she came under the care of Selah Freedom. Today, Angelea not only shares her story of resilience but also works full-time with the organization, mentoring fellow survivors in the Assessment Home—an important step towards healing and empowerment.

Following Angelea’s story, the series will include interviews with influential figures such as Dr. Sandra Stone, a leading researcher at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus, whose research delves into the devastating impact of child sexual abuse as a precursor to trafficking. Additionally, the series will feature an episode on A Door of Hope, a nonprofit focused on providing foster homes for vulnerable children and teens, many of whom have histories of sexual abuse.

One of the unique aspects of the series is its practical training segment wherein a representative from Selah Freedom's Prevention Program will guide parents on how to engage in essential dialogues about safety with their young children. This educational component is designed to equip families with the tools necessary to protect their kids from potential threats, thereby preventing trafficking at its roots.

The final episode in the series will spotlight Dr. Jason Quintal, a PhD and LCSW who specializes in trauma resolution. His work includes treating thousands of survivors within Selah Freedom's rehabilitation programs. Dr. Quintal's discussion will focus on themes of healing and emotional recovery, aligning perfectly with Mental Health Awareness Month in May.
