Spectee Partners with Osaka University and RICCC for Disaster Response Agreement

Spectee’s Collaboration for Enhanced Disaster Response

On April 30, 2026, Spectee Inc., a resilience tech startup headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, entered into a significant partnership with Osaka University, the Social Solution Initiative (SSI) of Osaka University, and the Regional Information Co-Creation Center (RICCC). The signing ceremony marked a commitment to strengthen disaster response capabilities through the integration of both organizations' strengths.

The event took place at Osaka University's Graduate School of Human Sciences on the Suita Campus, where key representatives, including Spectee's CEO Kenjiro Murakami, gathered. This collaboration aims to harness Spectee’s real-time disaster information, derived from AI technology, in conjunction with Osaka University’s intellectual property, the Disaster Relief Map. Together, they aspire to create impactful disaster response support systems.

Highlights of the Signing Ceremony

During the ceremony, the attendees engaged in demonstrations showcasing the capabilities of "Spectee Pro" and the "Disaster Relief Map". These systems are designed to effectively share information, illustrating how both organizations can support one another in future disaster scenarios. This collaboration emphasizes mutual commitment to enhancing disaster preparedness and response.

Objectives and Anticipated Benefits

The primary goal of this agreement is to merge Spectee's AI technology with the comprehensive data provided by the Disaster Relief Map. By synthesizing accurate information from local government officials and disaster prevention specialists with refined data extracted by Spectee from social media and other sources, the quality of information that can be disseminated will see a substantial improvement. This partnership aims to facilitate better utilization of regional human resources such as community disaster prevention specialists, ultimately enhancing the effectiveness of local governments in disaster situations and promoting rapid situation assessment.

Insights from CEO Kenjiro Murakami

Kenjiro Murakami commented on the critical nature of timely and accurate information in disaster response, stating that it serves as a lifeline for protecting lives and homes. The increasing frequency and severity of disasters mean that the demand for quick and precise responses continues to grow. By combining Spectee's real-time disaster information from social platforms with the firsthand knowledge of local disaster prevention personnel, the partnership believes that they will be able to deliver genuinely effective disaster responses.

Murakami expressed confidence that the collaboration would provide unprecedented clarity in disaster information delivery, leveraging the field knowledge and networks developed by Osaka University and RICCC. He affirmed their mission of "visualizing crises" to improve overall societal resilience further.
