H55's Electric Aircraft Sets New Noise Standards at U.S. Airports
H55, a Swiss-based aviation company, is revolutionizing the electric flight sector with its incredibly quiet aircraft, the Bristell B23 Energic. Recent tests at Centennial Airport revealed remarkable results: during a noise measurement experiment, three out of six noise-monitoring sensors did not register any sound from the electric aircraft. The B23 flew alongside a traditional piston-engine plane, with the latter creating significantly more noise.
A Quiet Breakthrough
On July 11, 2025, the Bristell B23 Energic flew identical flight paths as a conventional aircraft. Surprisingly, it produced noise levels below the ambient sound threshold of 60 dB, with the sensors recording the B23 at just 1/10th the intensity of the piston aircraft. Michael Fronapfel, CEO of Centennial Airport, remarked on this breakthrough, stating, "Electric aviation isn't the future—it's here. The B23 Energic offers noise levels so low, they're nearly impossible to track. This has real-world implications for airport communities."
Noise Reduction: A Game Changer
Zach Gabehart, the Noise Environmental Specialist at Centennial Airport, shared additional insight into the B23's performance. He noted that across multiple flights, the B23 consistently outperformed traditional aircraft, being 30 times quieter during cruising. This not only signifies a technological triumph but has profound ramifications for surrounding communities.
Electric propulsion offers several benefits: longer training hours for flight schools, decreased noise complaints from neighbors, and an overall better environmental impact due to zero emissions and exhaust. Moreover, it ensures compliance with future regulations, making it a desirable option for aviation stakeholders.
Certified Technology with Tangible Benefits
H55 CEO Martin Larose highlighted the significance of this test, stating, "This experiment proves that electric aviation provides not only environmental advantages but also real benefits for communities nearby. We're proud to present a certified propulsion system that enhances affordability, sustainability, and silence in aviation."
Upcoming Showcase in the Hamptons
As part of the B23 Energic's Across America tour, H55 is heading to one of the most noise-sensitive areas in the U.S.—the Hamptons. From August 4 to August 10, 2025, H55 will conduct demo flights, technology showcases, and briefings aimed at bringing awareness to this new era of clean aviation. Scheduled appearances will occur at:
- - Francis S. Gabreski Airport (KFOK) on August 6-7
- - East Hampton Town Airport (KJPX) on August 4, 5 and 8-10
This is an opportunity for the public and aviation professionals to experience firsthand the quiet revolution that electric aircraft like the B23 Energic promise.
