Global Survey Launched to Assess the Impact of Climate Change on Health
New Global Survey on Climate and Health
On January 15, 2025, Grand Challenges Canada (GCC), in collaboration with the Science for Africa Foundation, the Global Grand Challenges Network, and the Geneva Learning Foundation, proudly unveiled an innovative global survey designed to shed light on the intricate relationship between climate change and health.
This initiative aims to amplify the voices of frontline health workers including community health agents, nurses, doctors, researchers, and policymakers, particularly from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Their insights will provide crucial local perspectives on urgent health threats intensified by climate challenges. These threats include heat-related illnesses, vector- and waterborne diseases, mental health issues, and malnutrition.
The survey will gather quantitative data alongside qualitative insights collected during a global health professional summit. A worldwide panel of climate and health experts assembled by Grand Challenges Canada will analyze the findings. This comprehensive analysis will culminate in a prioritized list of the most pressing climate and health issues globally. This list will be made publicly available and shared with policymakers, researchers, and community leaders.
