SOMPO Risk Management and Sherpa Team Up for SmartESG Assessment
In a significant move towards enhancing sustainability assessment,
SOMPO Risk Management, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has entered into an agreement with
Sherpa & Company, based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, to utilize the innovative
SmartESG Assessment. This partnership aims to streamline the process of conducting sustainability surveys, enabling assessment companies to optimize their research, evaluation, and analysis efforts.
Introducing SmartESG Assessment
The newly adopted functionality is set to be integrated into SOMPO’s long-established
Environmental Management Surveys and
ESG Management Surveys. With over 20 years of experience, these surveys evaluate corporate sustainability initiatives and environmental management practices, making them essential for companies aiming to enhance their commitment to sustainability.
Starting from the fiscal year 2025, the integration of SmartESG will allow the distribution of surveys and collection of responses through a centralized platform. This means companies participating in the Environmental and ESG management surveys can create and submit their responses via a SmartESG account. This process eliminates the need for transferring data from internal documents to various sustainability and ESG evaluation formats, significantly improving efficiency.
The planned rollout includes the
Environmental Management Survey starting in early September 2025, followed by the
ESG Management Survey in early October of the same year. This change not only modernizes the survey experience but also enhances the accuracy and quality of the data collected.
Benefits of SmartESG Assessment for Participants
The SmartESG Assessment functionality centralizes the logistics of conducting surveys—from form creation to sending requests for responses, collecting data, and analyzing results—under one platform. This feature addresses the dual needs of reducing the workload for evaluators and improving the user experience for respondents, ensuring a more seamless participation process.
As a result of adopting this digital solution, organizations can redirect the time and resources saved towards enhancing their evaluation methodologies and strengthening engagements within their supply chains. This strategic shift fosters an environment conducive to broader, value-added activities in sustainability practices.
