On December 14, 2025, the El Sistema Japan Otsuchi Children's Orchestra will hold its annual Christmas concert, marking its 12th consecutive year. Each year since its inception in 2014, this event has celebrated the dedication and hard work of young musicians, and this year's concert promises to be more special than ever.

For the children, the Christmas concert is a culmination of their year's efforts in music, reflecting the joy and excitement they have experienced in their musical journey. This year's performance will feature a variety of solo pieces, and the audience will also enjoy well-known tracks from beloved Disney classics. Among the highlights is the debut stage appearance of a new third-grade member, who began attending an after-school string instruments class this past summer. Under the mentorship of their senior musicians, these young talents have practiced diligently, and we encourage everyone to come out and support their efforts.

Adding to the festive atmosphere will be special guest performances by two talented musicians: Mr. Takahiro Taira, a trumpet player residing in Otsuchi, who teaches at El Sistema Japan Otsuchi, and Ms. Kasumi Kitayuguchi, a saxophonist originally from Otsuchi, now making waves professionally in the Kanto region.

In addition to the orchestra, the Tsuchine String Ensemble, comprised of parents and local community members, will also take to the stage. This collaborative effort showcases the joy of playing music with friends and the enthusiasm of the children engaging in the art.
