V2X Secures Key Contract for Aircraft Survivability Systems Modernization

V2X, Inc., a prominent player in aerospace and defense, has recently gained a significant contract from the U.S. Navy's Naval Air Systems Command aimed at supporting the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) program. This initiative is crucial for protecting military aircraft against infrared-guided missile threats, enhancing operational security and aircraft survivability in hostile environments.

Jeremy C. Wensinger, President and CEO of V2X, expressed pride in the company's ongoing support for the U.S. Navy. He emphasized the importance of LAIRCM, stating that it significantly improves aircraft safety during missions, particularly in contested zones. V2X’s ability to provide expertise in aircraft modification and modernization directly contributes to enhancing safety for military personnel and ensuring successful mission execution.

V2X was chosen for this contract due to its proven track record in handling complex aviation modification projects. The company will expand its efforts under this contract by integrating LAIRCM systems onto multiple KC-130J aircraft belonging to the United States Marine Corps. This work will be conducted at V2X’s state-of-the-art modernization and integration center located in Crestview, Florida.

Richard "Vinny" Caputo, Senior Vice President of Aerospace Systems at V2X, highlighted the strategic advantage of the Crestview facility. Regarded as a C-130 center of excellence, this location has successfully managed hundreds of C-130 modifications over the last decade. The center boasts a fully instrumented 8,000-foot runway, which allows for easy access for aircraft of various sizes, alongside expansive high-bay hangars that offer over 500,000 square feet of space for manufacturing, production, and assembly.
