Tata Elxsi and Suzuki Introduce Pioneering Cloud HIL Center
On August 21, 2025, Tata Elxsi, a renowned leader in design and technology services, in collaboration with Suzuki Motor Corporation, officially inaugurated the
SUZUKI–TATA ELXSI Cloud HIL Center in Trivandrum, India. This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant milestone as Suzuki’s first dedicated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) validation center, designed to enhance the development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) on a global scale. This center is the second engineering hub formed under the partnership between Tata Elxsi and Suzuki, following the establishment of the Offshore Development Center (ODC) in Pune.
A Leap Towards Software-Defined Innovation
The Cloud HIL Center is set to revolutionize how Suzuki’s engineering teams conduct vehicle simulation and validation. By utilizing a cloud-native infrastructure, the center allows for early-stage, comprehensive vehicle testing that integrates seamlessly with Electronic Control Units (ECUs). This innovative approach minimizes the need for physical prototypes, significantly streamlining the validation process and accelerating product development across various research and development (R&D) centers worldwide.
This initiative aligns perfectly with Suzuki’s ambitious roadmap for Software-Defined Vehicles, pushing for a software-centric approach in developing modern vehicles. The focus on high-quality, scalable development ensures that Suzuki stays ahead in the rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
Transformative Advances in Automotive Development
Designed explicitly to facilitate the transition towards advanced vehicle technologies, the Cloud HIL Center combines Tata Elxsi’s deep-rooted expertise in automotive Verification and Validation (VV), test automation, and simulation technologies. This facility is poised to drive transformative changes in development speed, quality assurance, and overall readiness for the future.
Furthermore, as an essential component of Suzuki's global strategy for Electrical and Electronic (E/E) Virtual Development themed
SDV Right, the Cloud HIL Center underpins a framework for continuous integration and faster release cycles, thereby enhancing system reliability and robustness.
Strengthening a Long-Term Partnership
This latest development signifies a crucial step forward for the Tata Elxsi and Suzuki collaboration. Building on the successes of the Pune ODC, the Cloud HIL Center solidifies their commitment to engineering excellence and the advancement of mobility programs globally.
Katsuhiro Kato, Director and Executive Vice President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, expressed enthusiasm regarding this new facility, stating, "The SUZUKI-TATA ELXSI Cloud HIL Center is a groundbreaking base that leverages Tata Elxsi's deep expertise to construct advanced and efficient developmental systems. We anticipate this will aid in our effort to virtualization, minimize energy consumption, and contribute significantly to next-generation mobility."
Manoj Raghavan, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Elxsi, highlighted the importance of this partnership, commenting, "We appreciate the continuous trust from Kato-san and Suzuki Motor Corporation. This new Cloud HIL Center builds upon our strong foundation established in Pune, marking significant progress in our collaboration centered on software-defined vehicles. It embodies our shared vision for sustainable and smarter mobility."
Future-Ready Infrastructure
The Cloud HIL Center represents Tata Elxsi’s dedication to engineering excellence, focusing on high-impact localization of global vehicle initiatives. With its design tailored to evolve alongside next-generation technologies, this center provides a versatile groundwork that promotes agile integration, continuity of systems, and long-term value creation.
