Riso Launches Integlide S3491 and S3461 Inkjet Print Engines

Riso Kagaku Corporation, under the leadership of President Akira Hayama, is set to revolutionize the packaging industry with the introduction of two new inkjet printing engines, the Integlide S3491 and S3461. Set to start accepting orders from July 31, 2026, these advanced machines cater specifically to on-demand, full-color printing on the sides of packaging, enhancing the production process dramatically.

Revolutionizing Packaging Print Technology

The new Integlide series introduces a lateral printing capability, which allows for direct printing on the sides of various packaging materials, including cardboard boxes and other structural items. This advancement follows Riso's success with prior models, the Integlide S3411 and S3211, which focused primarily on top and sheet printing. By integrating these new models, Riso enhances versatility in production environments, providing flexibility for inline or offline and pre- or post-packaging printing processes.

Key Features of Integlide S3491 and S3461

1. Direct Side Printing: The new engines can print up to a substantial area of 310mm x 2,004mm directly on the sides of packaged goods. This enables the inclusion of essential information such as graphics, barcodes, and manufacturing dates while products are being transported through the printing system.

2. Two Transportation Types: Riso offers flexibility in operations with both S3491 and S3461 models. The S3491 accommodates package transportation from left to right (LR), while the S3461 is designed for right to left (RL), making it adaptable to various existing production and transport lines.

3. Inventory Reduction and Enhanced Value: By enabling just-in-time full-color printing on plain packages, companies can reduce their inventory levels significantly. This demand-based printing allows for customizable design options that enhance the overall value of the packaging.

The order period will officially commence on July 31, 2026. Initial target markets include:
