Unlocking Quantum Technology: The Quantum Innovation Fair 2026
From April 22 to 24, 2026, the Pacifico Yokohama will host the much-anticipated Quantum Innovation Fair, an essential segment of the OPIE'26 exhibition, a leading optical technology event in Japan. Organized by Optronics Corporation, under the leadership of President Ko Shimada, the fair will facilitate a vibrant platform for showcasing breakthrough advancements in quantum technology.
This specialized exhibition, created in collaboration with the Quantum Forum, led by former University of Tokyo professor and esteemed director Yoshihiko Arakawa, will highlight various applications of quantum innovations such as quantum computing, quantum sensing, and quantum communication.
With participation from over 500 companies at OPIE'26, the Quantum Innovation Fair aims to serve as a nexus where research meets practical application. By tapping into the rich network of researchers, businesses, and policymakers that the Quantum Forum has established, paired with Optronics’ extensive expertise in optics and photonics, the fair promises to deliver high-quality and impactful insights into the rapidly evolving domain of quantum technology.
The exhibition will feature specialized booths showcasing the latest quantum technology products from 19 companies and organizations, alongside poster presentations from 11 other entities. Attendees can expect a wide range of information-sharing activities, including seminars and presentations facilitated by exhibitors, aimed at bridging the gap between research and societal application. Fair attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from Berlin Partner for Business and Technology GmbH on the current trends in quantum technology in Germany.
In recent years, quantum technology has gained immense traction as a strategic priority for nations, and its integration with optical technologies signifies a promising frontier. The establishment of the Quantum Innovation Fair within the OPIE framework aims to visualize quantum technology in the context of the optical industry, thereby contributing to the growth of the quantum ecosystem in Japan.
The Quantum Forum and Optronics Corporation are committed to making this fair a valuable information hub for a diverse audience, including researchers, engineers, executives, and policymakers. The goal is to present a clear understanding of the current state and future prospects of quantum technologies, fostering new collaborations and creating business opportunities in this transformative field.
