Christian Brothers Automotive Forging Futures with Douglas County Partnership for Aspiring Auto Technicians

Christian Brothers Automotive and Douglas County School District Join Forces

In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering the next generation of automotive technicians, Christian Brothers Automotive (CBA) has partnered with the Douglas County School District in Colorado. This collaboration marks a significant investment in the local community, providing students with unique opportunities to transition from education to career.

Commitment to Future Technicians

Seven local CBA franchises located in Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Roxborough, Parker North, Parker South, Castle Rock, and Lone Tree are coming together to support the Auto Jobs program within the school district. Each participating shop will contribute $200 monthly to a scholarship fund specifically designed for students who might struggle to cover the costs associated with the program—totaling an impressive annual investment of $16,800 in scholarships.

Beyond financial support, each shop will also offer a paid internship to a student who excels in the program, tailoring work schedules to accommodate their educational commitments. Completing this internship comes with an added bonus: a Technician Starter Tool Set provided by CBA, equipping students with essential tools to kickstart their careers in automotive technology.

Chris Longo, the owner of the Littleton location of Christian Brothers Automotive, expressed the importance of this initiative, saying, "Every shop in our industry is looking for skilled technicians, and the students in this program are the people who will be fixing Douglas County's cars for years to come. We want to meet them early, show them what a career in this field can look like, and eliminate barriers that could impede their future success."

Real-World Training Opportunities

The partnership brings industry professionals directly into the students' educational experience. Throughout the academic year, experts from CBA will provide on-site technical training sessions at the high schools or CBA locations, further enriching the students' learning. Additionally, business owners will contribute by donating vehicles to be used as hands-on training resources, ensuring that students gain practical experience.

CBA staff will also lead coaching sessions focused on essential job skills, such as interviewing and career planning, alongside participating in district career fairs to connect students with promising opportunities available within the automotive industry.

DCSD Superintendent Erin Kane hailed the collaboration, noting, "This is an incredible opportunity for our students to gain real-world experience and explore careers in a growing industry, right here in their own community. Thanks to the generosity of Christian Brothers Automotive and the support of our voters through the bond measure, we are creating meaningful pathways that can help keep tomorrow's workforce here in our county. We are incredibly grateful to our community for investing in our students and their future."

Growing Demand for Skilled Workers

The demand for qualified automotive technicians is rising nationwide, making this partnership timely and relevant. By investing in students while they are still in high school, CBA franchise owners are actively working to strengthen their local workforce and changing perceptions about the skilled trades, promoting it as a viable and rewarding career path.

Christian Brothers Automotive has established itself as a leader in the automotive service industry, adhering to its guiding mission "To glorify God by serving our team, guests, and communities with excellence." Since its inception in 1982, the company has grown to over 340 locations across 31 states, offering a wide range of automotive services with a commitment to quality and customer care.

The partnership with CBA represents a significant step toward ensuring students are not only educated but equipped for successful careers in automotive technology—crucial for meeting the industry's future needs.
