Engineering Excellence Highlighted in WB Engineers' Award for Verizon Project



In a remarkable achievement, WB Engineers+Consultants has clinched the coveted Engineering Excellence Award for their impactful work on the Verizon Occoquan Emergency Streambank Restoration Project. Presented by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), this honor recognizes projects that demonstrate innovation, technical prowess, and significant benefits to infrastructure and communities in the Metropolitan Washington area.

The project, which spanned three years and was located in Woodbridge, Virginia, initially stemmed from an inquiry into a deteriorating parking lot near an unstable creek bank. Upon deeper investigation, the engineers discovered an array of challenges, including stormwater drainage problems and unstable soil that posed threats to both the property and local ecology.
