Caracal Academy's Annual Golf Tournament Breaks Record with $97,000 for Scholarships

Caracal Academy Golf Tournament Breaks Records

The Caracal Academy has proudly announced that its third annual golf tournament has raised an impressive $97,000, setting a new record in the event's history. This amount will directly support student scholarships and leadership development initiatives through the organization’s prominent scholarship programs: the Charles A. Roberts and Ann E. Lamb scholarships.

Held at the scenic Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg, Virginia, this year's illustrious event welcomed 22 teams of enthusiastic golfers, accompanied by more than 20 supporters and patrons. Organizers hailed this as the most successful tournament to date, highlighting the robust community participation, enthusiastic sponsor backing, and the increasing momentum surrounding Caracal Academy. The program focuses on developing young leaders between the ages of 18 and 25 through a year-long mentorship and leadership development initiative.

Chuck Ellis, the Chairman of the Board for Caracal Academy, shared his thoughts on the event, stating, "This tournament truly embodies the essence of what Caracal Academy stands for. Each conversation, partnership, and contribution pushed our mission forward - to expand educational opportunities and cultivate the next generation of principled leaders. Witnessing so many individuals invest in a future where young people are prepared to lead and create a lasting impact was genuinely inspiring."

Caracal Products & Services, recognized as a leader in healthcare solutions and recycling services, initiated Caracal Academy to provide young entrepreneurs with the necessary guidance, resources, and networks that may otherwise be inaccessible. The organization extends two scholarships specifically designed for high school seniors and students currently enrolled in college, trade schools, or other post-secondary education programs.

This year marked a significant milestone for Caracal as they celebrated the graduation of their first two four-year scholarship recipients:
  • - Marcus Jeter Jr., a graduate from Tuskegee University in Alabama with a degree in construction science and management.
  • - Madison Snyder, a graduate from Moravian University in Pennsylvania with a degree in nursing.

Both graduates were part of Caracal Academy's second cohort, which commenced during the 2022-2023 academic year. They are the inaugural scholars to have completed their four-year degrees, benefiting from consistent support provided through Caracal's mentorship and scholarship programs.

"The achievements of Marcus and Madison highlight the possibilities that arise when talent, hard work, and opportunity intersect," remarked Don Roberts, Founder and CEO of Caracal Products & Services. "Watching them finish their degrees and launch into impactful careers reaffirms our commitment to investing in students who have the potential to lead tomorrow."

Snyder expressed heartfelt appreciation towards Caracal Academy and the Charles A. Roberts scholarship for making her nursing career a reality. "Thanks to the Caracal Academy scholarship, I was able to graduate with significantly less debt and with a deep appreciation for the support I received. To the generous donors of the Caracal Academy scholarships, thank you for enhancing my educational journey beyond what I could have imagined. I hope my work as a registered nurse in a facility dSupporting a marginalized population makes you proud."

Likewise, Jeter reflected on how the Charles A. Roberts scholarship aided him in developing the critical skills needed in his career path. "The Caracal Academy scholarship alleviated financial stress and allowed me to concentrate on my education and future ambitions. It empowered me to dedicate more time to learning and self-improvement rather than worrying about financial burdens," said Jeter. "My education has equipped me for the future, granting me confidence, knowledge, and problem-solving skills applicable in both my career and day-to-day life. To the esteemed donors, your generosity opens doors of opportunity and significantly alters our lives and futures."

The success of the Caracal Academy and its scholarship initiatives relies heavily on the generous sponsorship from various supporters, including Taylor Corporation, White Hawk Retail Solutions LLC, and Dogwood Trace Golf Course.
