On December 5, 2024, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism is extending a warm invitation to Dutch food influencers and culinary enthusiasts for a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience in Amsterdam. The event, aptly titled 'A Taste of Indonesia', will be held at Ron Gastrobar, promising an exciting day filled with flavor and cultural immersion.

A Culinary Adventure


The event will kick off at noon with a live cooking demonstration led by the renowned chef of Ron Gastrobar. Attendees will savor authentic Indonesian dishes prepared right before their eyes, using spices and ingredients imported directly from Indonesia, known as the 'Mother of Spices'. This immersive cooking session will feature a variety of iconic Indonesian dishes that highlight the nation’s rich culinary heritage.

  • - Gado-Gado: A vibrant mix of vegetables, tofu, and hard-boiled eggs, generously drizzled with savory peanut sauce.
  • - Soto Ayam: A fragrant chicken soup featuring glass noodles and fresh vegetables, providing a comforting experience.
  • - Nasi Goreng: Indonesia's beloved fried rice, a must-try dish suitable for any occasion.
  • - Sate Ayam: Skewered chicken grilled to perfection and served with a creamy peanut sauce for an irresistible flavor combination.

This gastro-diplomatic initiative aims to promote Indonesian cuisine globally while boosting spice exports. The campaign's ambitious goal is to establish 4,000 Indonesian restaurants worldwide and increase spice exports to $2 million per year.

Following its Amsterdam kickoff, the event will travel to London and Paris on December 10, 2024, showcasing the vibrant flavors of Indonesia to a broader European audience.
